Typhoon is a buck kid that had "the look" from the moment he was born. His head, gorgeous and correct, follows through those wide nostrils into a type of general appearance that we look for in a young buck. Flatliner, his dam, excels in general appearance and has earned her permanent place in our herd as a brood doe. As a senior kid, she placed 10th at the 2019 ADGA National Show. On her first appraisal, she scored a respectable VVVV88 despite an udder injury that resulted in her presenting with a half udder - she is the only doe that we have with this injury, and despite it preventing her from showing, she stays with us.
Typhoon made a splash on his first show outing as a kid this past fall, standing either 1st or 2nd against his half brother and herd mate Titanium against a large ring of yearling lamancha bucks. Typhoon was commended on his front end assembly, dairy strength as well as angulation of back legs. He stands “four square”, with minimal set up in the show ring - Just places those legs straight down with no fiddling from us which we admire. He’s also got a nice set of feet that are closed and upright on those pasterns, something we are seeing in his daughters. Did I mention Typhoon likes to throw flashy doe kids?
His first kids show improved general appearance, flatness from hips to thurl, and increased width throughout. If you like them wide and stout, this maternal line throws it in spades. We retained a few choice daughters and will see yearling udders in 2024. A few of them earned their junior show legs in 2023.
Titanium has been collected by XCell genetics. Semen is available. 5/$150
