​Oh Summer! What can I say about this doe that is so very loved and cherished? Longevity, plain and simple. She continues to stand on strong feet and legs while approaching her ninth birthday, with no relaxation and breakdown while kidding each year with no issue. She gives me no grief, rarely has to be wormed (and I really can't remember a time when she was ill) and just plods along scarfing up everything in sight. She holds her own quite well in a diverse herd of strong minded lamanchas, and well - there just isn't much I don't love about this old gal. 

Summer is a CHUNK of a doe, wide and strong without giving up dairy strength. She milks gobs on an udder that has withstood the years, holding up and displaying tremendous attachment and rear udder height. I ask a lot of her in the milk parlor, and the only time I can show her successfully is in the height of the hot summer when I can pull some of the fat off of her. She usually stands first in her class, but gives way to does that display a bit more fore. I will fault her on that fore a bit, and if she'd give us more than a single buck kid I'd be rather grateful. She finally listened the last year and gave us triplets with two lovely daughters to retain in the herd.
