If you get the MASH reference - you understand the name! Margaret is a doe that we have been watching closely, and have been pleased with the results of this tight linebreeding on CH Lucky*Star's LX Felix.
Margaret's dam, One Hot Hello, was a favorite of Riley's and one of the last does she parted with to join our herd at Tule Creek. Hello garnered an impressive 4th place Senior Kid at the 2019 ADGA Nationals as well as earning several grands and reserves in her junior career. Of course, 2020 (and 2021 ...) came which put a pause on her show career as a milking senior. We have continued to be impressed with Hello as well as all of Hello's daughters. But I digress ....
Margaret followed in her dam's footsteps and at her first show earning her junior championship as well as junior Best in Show against a very competitive and large group of lamancha kids under Judge Dan Laney.
As a first freshener, Margaret impressed us with an extraordinarily productive mammary. She appraised well, earning a respectable VV+E 87 (check out that E in mammary) as a two year old. Due to my finishing up a degree, the herd did not see many shows in 2022.
In 2023 despite only giving us a single doe kid, Margaret has placed high in her age classes in the few shows we have taken her to thus far. She is growing leaps and bounds this summer, and I hope with another freshening will gain the maturity and depth she needs to be competitive. She absolutely loves the show ring, and is such a sweet personable doe. I am looking forward to her show career! She is often commended on her lovely fore, strong shoulder assembly, feet and legs as well as dairy strength.
