Titanium is our big white guy (well, depending on the season) that we retained from our beloved Tia. I've always been hesitant to retain a Tia buckling because our "rule of thumb" is generally that your dam must be a finished champion and appraise at least 90. However, year after year Tia has consistently proven herself in production. She looks fantastic, has "held up" and catches the eye of anyone here at the farm. As one of our appraiser friends said - Tia is the type of doe we look for, and epitomizes strength, productivity and longevity. I often joke around that I have the "ugly sister" as Tia's littermate sister SGCH J&R Lamanchas Tamara was more well known, garnering up numerous Best in Shows and earning 1st in the 7 & over class at the 2021 Nationals (longevity anyone?). At the time of this writing, Tia is approaching 12 years of age and has just been exposed to Mint*Leaf New Heights for 2025 kids - not quite ready for retirement!
Titanium had limited exposure at breeding, as he is quite related to many of our does. We opted to use other bucks and will use Titanium on those daughters. However, Tight's few daughters have excelled in front end assembly and general appearance. We are also seeing better udder height and attachment, and as our other Tia daughters and granddaughters, appropriate teat length and width.Titanium is a long, tall drink of water like his dam and we are excited to watch him continue to mature.
